That song, that sings "Down Home, where they know you by name and treat you like family....." about sums up how it is when you step foot on any part of the Bianchi Ranch. .... When our family purchased the Cortada Alta Vineyard from the Petersen's, we wanted to carry on their legacy. John and Lynn created this beautiful peaceful existence up high in the Santa Lucia Highlands... right above some of our cherished family lands. Everywhere you look you can see a touch of John and Lynn's vision. Only the best of the best went into building these two estate homes and growing this beautiful terraced vineyard.
A lover of wine, Peterson dreamed of developing a vineyard and after eight years of scouring California for the perfect vineyard, he fell in love with the Santa Lucia Highlands. In 2009, John and wife Lynn purchased 300 acres of rugged, unplanted mountainside land that would be home to Cortada Alta Vineyard.
Bob Bianchi, aka Papa, who hung the moon for his children and grandchildren, will forever be the Patriarch of our family. He respectfully worked his ranch land; he treasured and loved it and passed that love and respect on for the family land onto his kids, grandkids and great grandkids. He was a cowboy in the true meaning. Yes, he rode and he had many cattle and a brand all of his own but his gentleman manners, integrity and kindness was contagious and will never be forgotten.
Aunt Nicki. The historian and keeper of treasured things. Nicki is the eldest of the 4 Bianchi kids. She lives on the ranch and has her own homestead with goats, sheep, chickens and a flourishing veggie garden. Nicki loves to create dishes and used to run her own catering business.
Nana Dana, grandmother to many, even a few that simply lovingly just call her that! She is the family baker and nurturer. Dana also lives on the ranch in her own special corner. She loves to host family gatherings and socialized with family and friends. Dana loves to bake fresh cookies for each guest stay! You know what that means if you have been a guest of ours!
